Recreation

Our social network involves the great outdoors.

In north Murfreesboro, the expansive Richard Siegel Soccer Complex offers adult and children’s soccer clubs and hosts the Tennessee state championships. To the south, the 430-acre Barfield Crescent Park includes ball fields, ten pavilions, playgrounds, the Wilderness Center, miles of hiking trails, campsites, championship disc golf, and much more.  In central Murfreesboro, the Old Fort Park and Golf Course features the new Adams Tennis complex with 24 competition-level indoor and outdoor courts, pavilions, and an expansive playground. In all, there are more than twenty parks, trailheads, and public recreation complexes.  Plus, our award-winning, 14-mile Greenway network, running alongside the historic Stones River, connects people to each other, and to all sorts of recreational opportunities.

For spectators, MTSU boasts one of the strongest and most diverse collegiate athletics programs in the state, including bowl championship football and Top-25 basketball teams.
